COLUMBUS, Ga. — Columbus State University's Turner College of Business is preparing for its 2013 Business Plan Competition this spring by offering a Feb. 7 workshop for students on "How to Write a Business Plan."
The workshop is set for 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 in the Center for Commerce and Technology auditorium. Students must be enrolled at CSU during the 2012-2013 academic year to attend.
The workshop is designed to help students prepare for the third annual business plan competition, featuring nearly $10,000 in cash prizes. Plans submitted during the compeition are reviewed by a judging panel of CSU business faculty and local small business leadders. Among other goals, the competition aims to promote entrepreneurship and the development of start-up companies by students.
Grand prize in the college competition is $5,000. Second place earns $1,000, and third place rates $500. First place in the high school competition is $1,500, second place is $1,000, and third place is $500.
