A cast of 12 vocal arts students will entertain with highlights from The Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls, Kiss Me Kate, The Mikado, Hansel and Gretel, Don Pasquale, Cosi fan Tutte, The Magic Flute and Le Nozze di Figaro.

The students began preparing during the spring semester by learning and memorizing music, which will they will perform as a culmination of their May session course, Opera and Musical Theatre Production.

Professor Joseph Golden, director of opera activities for the Schwob school, with voice faculty colleagues Kimberly Cone and Dian Lawler-Johnson, have developed the production. “We met as a group and looked at the available students who wanted to come back and work during ‘Maymester,’” said Golden. “We chose the music based on how the student practices evolved this spring, which should make for a smashing good show.”

Cast members are Carrie Crawford, Tamika Dunn, Elizabeth Gaines, Brianna Gilliam, Bjorg Hilmarsdottir, Lydia Jackson, April Jacobs, Byron Mayes, Phillip McIntyre, Jessica Milner, Ashley Seldon and Cedricia Thomas. Schwob school pianist Yien Wang and other accompanists will perform with the students.
