Columbus State and Columbus to host Consulate General of Israel to the Southeast

Atlanta, Ga. – Dr. Tim Mescon, President of Columbus State University, in partnership with the Consulate General of Israel to the Southeast, will host a full day of collaborative meetings next week in Columbus, GA to highlight the strength of the U.S.-Israel relationship. Israeli Consul General Opher Aviran will join Dr. Mescon on Wednesday, August 28, to meet with prominent government officials, educators, and members of the Columbus community.

In addition to meetings with Columbus State University deans and faculty, Consul General Aviran and Dr. Mescon will visit Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson to discuss current relations and explore further partnership opportunities between Columbus and Israel. Additionally, Consul General Aviran will address the Columbus Rotary Club on the U.S.-Israel alliance and tour Fort Benning with Major General H.R. McMaster.

The day will conclude with a reception for the opening of the Salvador Dali exhibit, “Aliyah: The Rebirth of Israel.” Arranged by David and Ursula Blumenthal, Columbus State University will display the exhibit at the W.C. Bradley Co. Museum, located at 1017 Front Avenue, Columbus, Georgia.
