Columbus State University Hosts Science Olympiad Regional Tournament
COLUMBUS, Ga. --- Columbus State University will once again host the Science Olympiad Regional Tournament for middle school students on Saturday, February 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on CSU's main campus, followed by an awards ceremony at 4 p.m. in the Davidson Student Center auditorium. Science Olympiad aims to stimulate interest in science through hands-on challenges and recognition for those who excel in the competition.
CSU faculty, students and community volunteers will serve as supervisors of the 23 events that cover a range of disciplines, including biology, chemistry, geology, engineering, meteorology, physics and more. Eleven teams from eight middle schools will compete in this year's tournament. Top scoring schools in the regional Olympiad earn a chance to compete in the State Science Olympiad on March 19 in Forsyth, Ga.
