Columbus State University to Host Open House for Adult Learners
COLUMBUS, Ga. — Go Back. Move Ahead., a new state-level educational initiative and adult re-entry program designed to make the transition back to college more convenient, is the focus of next week’s Adult Learner Services open house event at Columbus State University.
A University System of Georgia and Technical College System of Georgia program, Go Back. Move Ahead. aims to advance college completion in the state by offering adult learners a simpler enrollment process, more ways to transfer course credits, flexible schedule options and a personal advisor.
According to Go Back. Move Ahead., more than 60 percent of jobs in Georgia will require some type of postsecondary degree by 2020. Currently, only 42 percent of the state’s population is prepared to such a level.
“CSU’s Go Back. Move Ahead. Day is the perfect opportunity for prospective students and the community to get ready to earn a degree,” said Dustin Worsley, assistant director of CSU’s Academic Center for Excellence and coordinator for Square One: Adult Re-Entry. “Representatives will be on site all day to greet guests, give tours, answer questions and assist students with the re-entry process; all in a casual atmosphere.”
Go Back. Move Ahead. Day is Tuesday, April 28. The event will be held in the Schuster Student Success Center (room 208) on CSU’s main campus from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
