Dec. 14 - ART AND THEATRE DEPARTMENTS MOVING INTO NEW DOWNTOWN FACILITIES
(Not a public event - media invited) Movers are working this week to transport equipment and supplies for Columbus State Universitys departments of art and theatre into their new spaces downtown. The new 125,000-square-foot art and theatre complex will open to students for the spring 2007 semester. Art faculty members will be unpacking in their new studios at 11 a.m. Thursday. The new complex on the CSU RiverPark campus is between Dillingham Street and 10th Street, and between Front Avenue and the river. For more information, contact John Lester at 706-562-1652.
Dec. 14 CSU TO KICK OFF FASHION DESIGN SERIES
Continuing Education at Columbus State University will introduce a new fashion design program to Columbus at an exclusive launch party from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Columbus Public Library.
New York City fashion designer Allie Amonoo will head up this new endeavor, being promoted as an innovative program to prepare our community for a new level of contemporary design and fashion. Amonoos designs have been published internationally, as well as in Glamour and Womens Wear Daily.

Dec. 15 NCAA BASKETBALL: CSU VS. VALDOSTA AT CVCC
The CSU mens basketball squad will play Valdosta State at 7 p.m. Friday in Key Hall at Chattahoochee Valley Community College. The event marks the first CSU basketball game on the CVCC campus. Dec. 16 - CSU TO HOLD FALL GRADUATION CEREMONY
CSUs 93rd commencement will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 in the Lumpkin Center. CSU Vice President for Academic Affairs George Stanton will give the commencement address and CSU President Frank Brown will present an honorary doctorate to Dr. Mary W. Schley, a pediatric physician and distinguished community leader. Seating for guests will begin at 8:30 a.m. Shuttles will be available to transport guests from parking lots throughout campus. Dec. 18 NCAA BASKETBALL: TIP-OFF TIME CHANGE, FOOD DRIVE INCORPORATED
Tip off for Mondays CSU mens basketball game against the District of Columbia has been moved to 2 p.m. at the Lumpkin Center.
In addition to the time change, CSU will collect non-perishable items for the First Baptist Church Food Closet at the door. Anyone bringing two cans of food will be admitted to the game free of charge. Without a donation, tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and children.
