DECEMBER 6 - Oxbow’s Holiday Open House
Residents and reptiles alike are invited to celebrate the holiday season at Oxbow’s Holiday Open House, an annual event scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Columbus State University’s Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center. DECEMBER 6 - Cougars for Causes Holiday Bash
The 1st Annual Cougars of Causes Holiday Bash, sponsored by University Police, is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6 during a basketball double-header at the Lumpkin Center. Participants are asked to bring stuffed animals, toys, coloring books and crayons, or non-perishable food items to donate. Each game will feature a Teddy Bear Toss at halftime and an opportunity to pose for holiday photos with Cody the Cougar. All donations benefit local outreach programs. DECEMBER 6 – “Santa’s Christmas Tree”
Columbus State’s Department of Theatre will perform Beverly Weiler’s “Santa’s Christmas Tree” at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 6 in CSU’s Riverside Theatre Complex. The play tells the story of the elves’ journey to find Santa the most beautiful tree. Tickets for adults are $10. Tickets for seniors (60 and over) and active duty military are $8. Tickets for children (ages 12 and under) are $5. CSU students will receive one free ticket, and CSU faculty and staff will receive two free tickets. Tickets may be purchased or picked up the day of the show and during regular box office hours (Monday-Friday, 11a.m - 5 p.m.). DECEMBER 6 – Double Reed Studio Recital
Students from the studios of Dr. Susan Tomkiewicz and Dr. Ron Wirt in Columbus State’s Schwob School of Music present solo and chamber music for oboe and bassoon at 5 p.m. Saturday, December 6 in the Studio Theatre at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. DECEMBER 6 – Astronomy Night (Holiday Special)
Observe the night sky with Columbus State’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center during Astronomy Night on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the center.
