CSU’s Schwob School of Music presents faculty artist Sergiu Schwartz, the William B. and Sue Marie Turner Distinguished Faculty Chair in Music, and Alexander Kobrin, the L. JAN. 29 – The Beethoven Project: The Complete Violin Sonatas – Part II
CSU’s Schwob School of Music presents the Beethoven Project: The Complete Violin Sonatas – Part II at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 in RiverCenter’s Studio Theatre. Violin students from the studio of professor Sergiu Schwartz, the William B. and Sue Marie Turner Distinguished Faculty Chair in Music and pianist Alina Sarkisyan, graduate assistant of Alexander Kobrin, the L. Rexford Whiddon Distinguished Chair in Piano, take on the project of performing the 10 sonatas for violin and piano by Ludwig van Beethoven. Free. JAN. 29 – Carson McCullers Center Presentation

Columbus State’s Carson McCullers Center for Writers and Musicians presents an afternoon with Paul Hostovsky Tuesday, Jan. 29 at the center, 1519 Stark Ave. He will take part in a Q&A at 4:30 p.m. and a reading at 7:30 p.m. Hostovsky’s poems have won a Pushcart Prize, the Muriel Craft Bailey Award from The Comstock Review, and chapbook contests from Grayson Books, Riverstone Press, Frank Cat Press and Split Oak Press. His work has been featured six times on Garrison Keillor's The Writer's Almanac and on Poetry Daily, Verse Daily, and Best of the Net 2008 and 2009. Free.
