July 25, Aug. 1, 8 - Astronomy Night at Callaway Gardens
Columbus State’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center continues its Monday Astronomy Night series through Aug. 8 at Callaway Gardens near Pine Mountain. July 25 - 'Nature of Books' Book Club at Oxbow Meadows
Columbus State’s Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center continues it’s Nature of Books book club series with a discussion of Janisse Ray's Ecology of a Cracker Childhood at 6 p.m. Monday at the center, 3535 South Lumpkin Rd. Oxbow staff, along with Chattahoochee Valley Community College English professor Greg Spence, will lead the free program. July 27 - Wild Wednesdays at Oxbow Meadows: Birds of Prey
Columbus State’s Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center closes its Wild Wednesdays series of storytime and nature programs with a session themed Birds of Prey at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the center, 3535 South Lumpkin Rd. Spencer Garrard from CSU’s education faculty reads The Littlest Owl by Caroline Pitcher. Afterward, Auburn's Southeastern Raptor Rehabilitation Center gives a birds of prey demonstration. July 28-29, Aug. 8-9 - Orientation for Freshman Commuter Students
Columbus State will hold an orientation for traditional freshmen entering CSU this fall as commuter students Thursday and Friday, July 29-30. The program begins following an 8:30-10 a.m. check-in period in the Student Recreation Center lobby. The orientation will be repeated on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 8-9. July 29 - Undergraduate and Graduate School Application Deadline
Friday, July 29 is the deadline to apply for undergraduate or Graduate School admission to Columbus State University for the fall semester. The university will offer five new graduate programs this fall: Master of Education in theatre education; Master of Music in performance; Master of Arts in history; Master of Science in nursing, an online degree in collaboration with Clayton State University; and Specialist in Education with a major in special education. July 29, Aug. 9 - Orientation for Transfers and Nontraditional New Students
Columbus State will hold a daylong fall semester orientation on Friday, July 29 and Tuesday, Aug. 9 for students transferring from other schools or new students who have been away from the classroom five or more years. Check-in is 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Davidson Student Center Lobby. The cost is $56 per student and $20 per accompanying family member. July 30 - Grand Opening for Oxbow Meadows 
Columbus State’s Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center, in cooperation with Columbus Water Works, celebrates the opening of its new multipurpose facility with a grand opening event 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, July 30 on site, 3535 South Lumpkin Road. The  8,000-plus square-foot facility will provide an expanded area for animals, including indoor and outdoor ponds for alligators and turtles and contain an 86-seat auditorium and two classrooms. July 30 - Astronomy Night at Providence Canyon
Columbus State’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center will stage an Astronomy Night program of stargazing and planet viewing from Providence Canyon State Park near Lumpkin starting 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 30. Aug.  2 - Fort Benning New Student Orientation
Columbus State holds an orientation for students who will take fall 2011 classes at CSU's Fort Benning Center at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 at 2611 Soldiers Plaza, Fort Benning. New freshman or students with less than 30 credit hours should attend. The session is free. Columbus State holds an orientation Thursday, Aug. 4 for students who will take fall 2011 classes at CSU's West Point Center. Check-in is 5:30 p.m. Advisement and registration will follow the 6-8 p.m. program at at 405 West 8th Street in West Point. New freshman or students with less than 30 credit hours should attend. Aug. 7 - Comic Book Show at Space Science Center
Columbus State's Coca-Cola Space Science Center hosts a Columbus Comic Book Show from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 at the center, 701 Front Ave., Columbus.
