MAY 14, 28 - Guided Nature Walks at Oxbow Meadows
Columbus State University's Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center offers free, guided nature walks on the Oxbow Meadows trails starting 8 a.m. every second and fourth Saturday of the month. For more information, call 706-687-4090 or go to http://oxbow.ColumbusState.edu.
Columbus State University and other local organizations will collect supplies such as toiletries, non-perishable food, diapers, pet food, tents, tarps and tools on Friday, May 20 for victims of recent tornadoes in Georgia and Alabama. Collection times and locations are:
• 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Broadway in Uptown Columbus (during the Friday night Uptown Concert series featuring Big Woody and the Splinters, starting 7 p.m.).
May 29 - Opera and Musical Theater Sampler
Columbus State’s Schwob School of Music presents an “Opera and Musical Theater Sampler 3 p.m. Sunday, May 29 in RiverCenter’s Studio Theatre. An all-student cast, with piano accompaniment, will perform excerpts and scenes from opera, operetta and musical theater. The event is free.
