Jan. 7 - NCAA BASKETBALL: CSU HOSTS AUGUSTA STATE
The Columbus State University mens and womens basketball squads will host Augusta State University for a doubleheader Saturday in the Lumpkin Center. Tip off times are 2 p.m. (women) and 4 p.m. (men). General admission is $5, $3 for students (age 5 through college) and free for military personnel and CSU students, faculty and staff, with appropriate ID. JAN. 8 - OXBOW MEADOWS SECOND SUNDAY: TREE ID WALKS
Columbus State Universitys Oxbow Meadows Environmental Center will present a Second Sunday series program titled Tree ID Walks, on Sunday. Local foresters will identify tree species along Oxbows nature trails. The guided walk will begin at 2 p.m. and repeat at 3 p.m. The program costs $2 per person and free for children ages 4 and under. Oxbow Meadows is located at 3535 South Lumpkin Rd., Columbus. JAN. 9 - INTERNATIONAL FILM SERIES TO OPEN WITH WALKABOUT
Columbus State Universitys Center for International Education will screen the 1971 film Walkabout at 7 p.m. Monday in CSUs International House at 6 Clearview Circle. Walkabout is about an English sister and brother who are abandoned in the harsh Australian outback. They are rescued by an Aborigine boy who has journeyed into the desert on his walkabout a tribal initiation into manhood. Admission is free. JAN. 12 MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY OBSERVANCE
Columbus State University will observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a ceremony at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12 in the Davidson Centers Columbus Room. The programs speaker will be the Rev.
