CSU Happenings May 18-26

ONGOING – CSU SENIOR ART EXHIBITION
Columbus State University’s Department of Art is featuring a senior exhibition through May 28 titled “Fairy Tales and Hate,” in the Norman Shannon and Emmy Lou P. Illges Gallery at the Corn Center for the Visual Arts on CSU’s RiverPark campus in downtown Columbus.

The exhibition features the works of graduating CSU seniors Christie Cannon, Antonio Hardy, Janet Hammock and Roman Richards II in the media of oil paintings, graphic novels and computer graphics. A concurrent exhibition, “Laser Level,” by students from the University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art, is in the Carpenter’s Building Gallery.

MAY 18 – EXTENDED DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR JUNE SESSION CLASSES
CSU is extending to Friday the admissions deadline for June session classes. The classes, from June 11 to July 26, feature courses in more than 60 subject areas. MAY 19 – SCI-FI UNDER THE STARS TO FEATURE DISNEY'S 'TRON'
CSU’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center will screen the 1982 Disney film “Tron” at 8:30 p.m. Saturday on the south lawn outside the center, at 701 Front Ave. The program, part of the Sci-fi Under the Stars series, is free as guests are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and snacks. MAY 26 – ASTRONOMY NIGHT
CSU’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center will stage an Astronomy Night program on Saturday, May 26 at the center, at 701 Front Ave. The program will begin at 8 p.m. with a planetarium presentation, followed by planet viewing and stargazing.
