CSU Shooter Wins National Division I Rifle Championship

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Columbus State University shooter Jonathan Hall, shooting as an individual, has won the 2010 NCAA Individual National Championship in Air Rifle.

The championship is an amazing end to CSU's first year of competing in rifle, a Division I sport. His winning total score of 699.9 is the highest ever in the history of the NCAA Rifle Championships.

Hall, a Carrollton native, completed his competition on Saturday afternoon, qualifying for the championship by shooting a 595 in the qualifying round. That score was tied for the highest qualifying score.
