From President Markwood about VP Alan Medders

Colleagues,

I wanted to share with you the letter below from Alan Medders to the CSU Foundation Trustees. While I was terribly disappointed to receive Medders' resignation, I understand the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity he has, and I am pleased he was able to accommodate my request to stay at CSU as long as possible.

We will begin a search in January for his successor.

While we are sad for us, we are happy for Alan and his family. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Medders on this wonderful opportunity and thanking him for all that he has done for CSU

Sincerely,

Dr. Chris Markwood, president

Dear CSU Foundation Board Trustees:

It is with mixed emotions that I share with you that I have submitted my letter of resignation as Vice President for University Advancement and Executive Director of the CSU Foundation to CSU President Dr. Markwood, effective January 31, 2016.

Beginning February 1, 2016, I will become President of Myers/McRae Executive Search and Consulting, headquartered in Macon. Myers/McRae works with colleges and universities throughout the United States to recruit and place academic and university leaders. The firm also offers a broad range of client services in higher education.

I would like to say it has been a pleasure to have served at Columbus State University for the past three and a half years, working with a truly dedicated Foundation Board, excellent administrative and development team, foundation staff, and committed faculty and staff. The results of your commitment is evident in the fact that we have launched the $100 million “First Choice” comprehensive campaign and already exceeded $70 million toward the goal.

Please know that my interest in the University will continue as you strive to reach your campaign goal, which I am certain will be achieved to continue the tremendous growth in quality academic facilities, academic programs and student life engagement.
CSU is a wonderful institution with a limitless future, and Columbus is a great community in which to live and work. Denise and I wish both CSU and Columbus the very best in all future endeavors. Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve with you at Columbus State University.

Sincerely,

Alan Medders
