A luncheon and address by Jim Blanchard will wrap up the forum.

The greatest gift I can offer to our community is an investment in leadership, said Blanchard, Synovus chairman of the board. I want to provide a forum where leaders can be exposed to the best and brightest minds in the world today.

Carmen Cavezza, executive director of CSUs Cunningham Center for Leadership Development, said he and Blanchard are excited to have Miller open the forum.

Miller served as Georgias governor from 1991-1999, before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2000. He is the third Georgian to be elected both governor and U.S. senator. Miller now serves as senior policy adviser in the national government affairs law practice of McKenna, Long and Aldridge. In this role, he counsels the firms clients on federal and state policy issues. In addition, he serves as a contributor on Fox News. Once called the most popular governor in America by the Washington Post, Millers passions are history, baseball, music and writing. He has written six books, including Corps Values: Everything You Need to Know I Learned in the Marines, A National Party No More: The Conscience of a Conservative Democrat and A Deficit of Decency.

We look forward to this inaugural Jim Blanchard Leadership Forum with excitement and gratitude, Cavezza said. The partnership between Jim Blanchard, Synovus and the Cunningham Center for Leadership Development at CSU will raise the local and national standards for leadership development.
