Magazine Lists CSU President Among Most Influential Georgians

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Tim Mescon, Columbus State University's president since 2008, has been named among the "100 Most Influential Georgians" in Georgia Trend magazine’s annual listing.

It's the second consecutive year he's made the magazine's annual list.

The magazine, in its January 2014 issue, cites the rise in the university’s stature under Mescon’s leadership since becoming the university’s fourth president. It notes that CSU was named by U.S. News & World Report, for 2012 and 2013, as one of the Top 50 public regional universities in the South, and that online graduate programs have been ranked among the Top 35 in the country — all in addition to Columbus State's enrollment growing to more than 8,200 students in more than 100 different degree tracks.
