New President Announced for Columbus State University


To all Columbus State University students, faculty, and staff:

During a special meeting of the Board of Regents, Dr. Chris Markwood was confirmed to serve as the fifth president of Columbus State University. He takes office on June 1, 2015. Dr. Markwood brings proven leadership to Columbus State, which will continue the institution’s growth and advancement. We see a bright future for Columbus State. The campus search committee is to be commended for identifying a strong group of candidates.

Dr. Chris Markwood comes to Columbus State from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi where he served as provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.
