Keeping with its mission to expedite the undergraduate admissions process, Columbus State University is adopting temporary “test-free” admissions requirements for the Fall 2022 semester. 

Freshman students who apply for admission this fall will not be required to submit ACT or SAT scores—provided they have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher (based on their Required High School Curriculum as calculated by CSU). Students who do not have a 3.0 GPA are still encouraged to apply; however, they will be required to submit test scores.

Applicants who have previously applied for Fall 2022 admission will be re-evaluated according to this new temporary admissions criteria.

“We are committed to providing all our future CSU Cougars a ‘creative to the core’ academic experience,” said Sallie McMullin, associate vice president for enrollment management. “With this move, we look forward to helping more graduating high school seniors with their transition to a successful and rewarding college experience.”

The University System of Georgia authorized this change to CSU’s admission requirements to expedite the admission process and to help make college admission accessible. First-year students must meet all other admission requirements, including all other required documentation.

In conjunction with the revised testing requirements, Columbus State continues to waive its undergraduate student application fee through March 31.
