`Aesop’s Fables on Stage' Opens Columbus State Theatre Season

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Columbus State Theatre opens its 2010-2011 season with Aesop’s Fables on Stage Sept. 9-12 on the MainStage at Theatre on the Park on CSU’s downtown Columbus RiverPark
campus. 
Curtain times for the production at Theatre on the Park are 7:30 p.m. Thursday and
Friday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Featured fables will include “The Milk Maid and Her Pail,” “The Goose that Laid the
Golden Eggs,” the “Tortoise and the Hare,” “The Lion and the Mouse,” and “The Sun
and the Wind.”
Additional shows are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sept. 9-10 at Theatre on
the Park for daycare centers, home-schooled children and small schools.
The production will visit larger schools in the area as part of a tour through Dec.
2 of Georgia and Alabama schools.
The CSU student cast is comprised of senior Robin Lyles from Harlem, Ga., sophomore
Thomas Freeman from Moultrie, Ga., sophomore Brad Coggin from Lawrenceville, Ga.,
and understudy Alex Yebra, a sophomore from Mill Creek, Ga.
Also, senior Richard Frazier from Atlanta is assistant director, and senior Kyle Phillips
from Manchester, Ga.. is stage and tour manager.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, children, active military and
CSU alumni. CSU students can receive one free ticket while CSU faculty and staff can
receive two complimentary tickets. Discounts apply for groups of 10-19 and 20 or
more .
Hours for the CSU Theatre Box Office at 10th Street and Bay Avenue are 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
