Art and Art History Professors Receive Award for Outstanding Exhibition

Columbus State’s Hannah Israel, associate professor of art and director of the Illges Gallery, and Michele McCrillis, associate professor of art history, received the 2015 Award for Outstanding Exhibition and Catalogue of Contemporary Materials from the Southeastern College Art Conference for their 2014 exhibition titled “Beyond the Grid, Into the Sublime, a New View of Minimalism.” The conference was held in mid-October.

The SECAC awards committee praised the submission as a fine investigation and documentation of Minimalism and Post-Minimalism through a pristinely staged exhibition and accompanying catalogue.
