Catch up with Columbus State Friends at Second Annual Alumni Weekend

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Columbus State is preparing to welcome hordes of former students for the university's second annual Alumni Weekend on Oct. 12-13.

CSU Alumni Relations Director Jennifer Joyner said the weekend is an opportunity for alumni to "share food, fun and fellowship" as they "relive the past, experience the present and get a glimpse of our exciting future."

5:30-7:30 p.m.
Friday Night Free for All!
Enjoy light refreshments and cocktails at The Loft, 1032 Broadway. After gathering with fellow alumni in The Loft's Green Room, stay for the Uptown Columbus Broadway Series Outdoor Concert beginning at 7 p.m. in the median in front of The Loft.

Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012
10 a.m.-noon
Free admission to CSU's Coca-Cola Space Science Center, 701 Front Ave. Alumni will get to enjoy the outreach center's planetarium and exhibits.

Noon-2 p.m.
Annual Alumni Recognition Luncheon
Coca-Cola Space Science Center, 701 Front Ave.
Alumni will be recognized in four categories: Alumni Service Awards, Young Alumna Award, Excellence in Alumni Achievement and Distinguished Alumnus in Military Service. Also: Columbus College graduates and former students from 1958-1962 will be inducted into the Emeritus Alumni Society. $15 per person.

Tower Society Event
Tower Society members will have a special pre-reception for the Evening on the Top at the CSU parking garage across from the W.C. Bradley Company on Front Avenue.

This family-friendly, picnic-style evening includes music of The Grapevine Band, a 10-man group with a repertoire covering Motown, rhythm and blues, beach, pop, rock from the 1960s-1980s and more. Order a CSU picnic meal for two from Aramark, CSU's food vendor, or bring your own. A cash bar will be provided. Presented by Columbus State's four academic colleges. $5 per person or $35 for two if pre-ordering
