May 30 - June 9 - Summer Session in Transition
The final day of May session classes is Friday with orientation for the new, June
session scheduled for Wednesday and late registration on Thursday . Classes for
the June session begin on Monday, June 9.

June 5 - Grand Opening for Center for Commerce and Technology
A ribbon-cutting will highlight a grand opening ceremony for Columbus State University's
Center for Commerce and Technology, at 10 a.m. on Thursday . The four-level, 96,000-square-foot
facility has a flexible infrastructure to accommodate future renovations for technology
upgrades. The building will house the Abbott Turner College of Business, the Computer
Science Department and Computer Information and Networking Services.

June 8 - Oxbow Meadows Second Sunday: Honey Bees
Chattahoochee Valley Beekeeper Jim Harris will present 'All About Honey Bees &
Honey Extraction,' 2-3 p.m. Sunday, June 8 at Columbus State University's Oxbow Meadows
Environmental Learning Center. The program is part of the monthly Second Sunday Series.
Admission is $1 per person and free for kids under age 4.
Harris, known locally as the 'honeybee man,' will discuss the bees' life cycle, social
structure, beehive development, hive duties and honey production. He also will demonstrate
how to extract honey from a hive.
The Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center is located at 3535 South Lumpkin
