Columbus State family joins hurricane-relief efforts

Many in the Columbus State University family are helping our neighbors whose lives have been upended by the recent Hurricanes. If you would like to help, here’s a list of efforts that your colleagues are supporting*:
USG Hurricane Helene Relief Fund
The University System of Georgia Hurricane Helene Relief Fund aims to provide vital
support to impacted families and communities within the University System of Georgia.
By donating, sharing, or volunteering, you can help ensure that those affected receive
the necessary resources to rebuild their lives and futures.

Department of Communication + Columbus Convention & Trade Center
Columbus State's Department of Communication is partnering with the Columbus Convention & Trade Center to collect these needed items and deliver them to Haywood County residents on Oct. 18. Donations can be dropped off in the Trade Center's South Hall or at the Main Campus' Post Office. Items needed include sleeping bags, blankets, warm hats or beanies, hooded sweatshirts, first aid kits, and propane heaters (even after power is restored.

Athletics Department + Angel Flight
The Athletics Department has partnered with the volunteer pilots organization Angel Flight to collecting the following, which will be going to many different locations for disaster relief. Drop off is in 203 of the Lumpkin Center on Main Campus.
- Blankets
- Laundry Detergent
- Batteries: sized C and D
- Mop Buckets and Mops
- Bandaids
- Coffee Creamer
- Dry Shampoo
- Baking Soda
- Vinegar
- Childrens Motrin
- Brooms
- Small Propane Tanks
- Charcoal/Lighter Fluid
- Bug Bite Medicine
- Cleaning Supplies
