September 6, 2018

Ribbon Cutting for the WRBL Bureau at Columbus State UniversityColumbus State University today celebrated the opening of the new WRBL-TV 3 News Bureau, which opened at its new home in the Department of Communication's Carpenter Building on the RiverPark campus. The new facility will allow students to observe reporting and video production first hand, as well as participate in internships at the Bureau.

"This is a great partnership that can provide our students opportunities to learn real-time news gathering and reporting," said Danna Gibson, Chair of the Communication Department at CSU. "We are so thankful for this, as well as our other community partnerships, which provide such value to our students."

The news bureau will be up and running next week with the assistance of two CSU interns. Interns will work closely with the news director as a mentor to gain exposure in news gathering, reporting, and production. The 150-hour internship will be available to juniors and seniors.

The news bureau is the latest partnership to be announced over the past few days that will expand learning opportunities for CSU Department of Communication students.
