CSU Homecoming 2022

Columbus State University announces its Homecoming 2022 event schedule for students, employees, alumni and the community. The fun-filled festivities begin on Monday, Sept. 26 and conclude on Saturday, Oct. 1. From contests and tailgating, to concerts, and a parade,  friends of CSU and their families won’t want to miss any of the events—most of which are free and open to the public—throughout the week.

The week-long celebration culminates on Friday with the annual CSU “Downtown Domination” Homecoming Parade. The parade featuring university student groups and organizations will wind its way through Uptown Columbus spreading Cougar spirit. Spectators are encouraged to wear their red, white and blue—as well as stick around afterward for the Uptown Concert Series.

Fun-for-all events resume on Saturday as festivities kick off at noon the Walden Soccer Complex on CSU’s Main Campus. A ticketed Oktoberfest-themed Cougarfest will feature craft beer selections from around the world, and food will be available. Fans can cheer on the Lady Cougar women’s soccer team as they take on Georgia Southwestern State University at 2 p.m. Admission to the game is free, and during halftime, CSU will crown its homecoming king and queen.

The celebration moves riverside Saturday evening, where the community is invited for a free outdoor showing of “Jurassic World: Dominion.” Gates at the Phenix City Outdoor Amphitheater open at 7 p.m. and the movie begins at 8:30 p.m.

“Homecoming is a time that celebrates that Columbus State is our community’s university,” said Dr. Rocky Kettering, CFRE, vice president for university advancement. “It’s a time to celebrate the spirit behind the ‘Columbus State Experience’ and the role our community plays in the success of our students and CSU.”
