FEB. 11-12 NCAA BASEBALL: CSU HOSTS ANDERSON COLLEGE
The Columbus State University baseball squad will host Anderson College for a doubleheader on Saturday at Ragsdale Field. Game times are 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The teams will reconvene for a 1 p.m. match up on Sunday, Feb. 12. FEB. 12 STATE MAMMALS TAKE CENTER STAGE
CSUs Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center will present Mammals of Georgia, as its Second Sunday Series program at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12. CSU biology Professor Nora Stevens will demonstrate live and mounted specimens of Georgias mammals, particularly those at Oxbow Meadows. Admission is $2 and free for children ages 4 and under. FEB. 12 FREE HORN RECITAL

FEB. 12 GOSPEL EXTRAVAGANZA
Columbus State University will host a Gospel Extravaganza at 6 p.m. Sunday in the RiverCenters Legacy Hall. The event will feature the Dougherty High Performing Arts Chorale from Albany, Ga. Other performers will include The Gospel Messengers and the CSU Gospel Choir. The event is part of CSUs observance of Black History Month. Admission is free, however seating is limited. Feb. 15 AFRICAN WEEK FILM SCREENING: SARAFINA
Columbus State Universitys African Students Organization will present a screening of the film Sarafina at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Davidson Center auditorium. In this 1992 musical drama, Sarafina is a bright young student in 1979 South Africa influenced by her teacher who inspires students to take a stand against discrimination in their homeland. FEB. 16 VISITATION EVENING FOR PROSPECTIVE ADULT/TRANSER STUDENTS

FEB. 16 BLACK HISTORY LECTURE: BE-BOP PROMOTES COMMUNISM
Historian Gary Sprayberry will give a lecture titled Be Bop Promotes Communism: The Anti-Rock and Roll Crusade in Post-Brown Alabama and the 1956 Attack on Nat King Cole, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 in CSUs International House at 6 Clearview Circle. The event is free and open to the public and part of CSU's Black History Month Observance.

Sprayberry, a professor at Miles College , will teach classes in African-American history at CSU when he joins the university's Department of History and Geography in August.

CSU co-sponsors of this event are the Office of Minority Affairs, the Honors Program, the College of Arts and Letters and the Carson McCullers Center for Writers and Musicians. For more information call 568-2263.
