FEB. 2-3 HOMECOMING WEEKEND FESTIVITIES
Friday: Homecoming Bonfire and Pep Rally The traditional homecoming bonfire and pep rally is set for 7-9 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center, The event is free and open to the public and will feature music provided by a disc jockey, the CSU cheerleading squad and food and drinks including hot dogs.

Friday: Alumni Old Timers Basketball Game Former CSU basketball players and their families will gather in the Lumpkin Center for a CSU Old Timers basketball game beginning 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

Saturday: Chili Cook-Off and Tailgating Competition Student organizations will compete in the tailgating competition, with setup from 9-10 a.m. Concurrently, faculty, staff and alumni will participate, in addition to students, in the chili cook-off. Judging for both competitions, in the Davidson Student Center parking lot, will be from 1:20-1:45 p.m.

Saturday: Alumni Brunch and Silver C Induction CSU alumni are invited to a brunch and Silver C Induction ceremony for members of CSUs class of 1982 starting 10 a.m. in the Elizabeth Bradley Turner. A tour of the CSU RiverPark campus will follow. Alumni should call 706-568-2280 to reserve a space.

Saturday: Cougar Baseball Doubleheader The CSU baseball squad will host West Alabama for a pair of games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Ragsdale Field. Saturday: Cougar Basketball Doubleheader The Columbus State University mens and womens basketball squads will host Francis Marion with tip-off times at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. . Between games, an alumni networking reception will be held on the upper deck of the Lumpkin Center, and the mens game will feature a halftime crowning of CSUs 2007 homecoming court. FEB. 2-4 CSU THEATRE CONTINUES THE GRAVEDIGGERS TANGO
CSU Theatres The Gravediggers Tango, a mystery drama by San Francisco-based playwright and actor Ian Walker, continues through Sunday in Fine Arts Hall. The production, which opened Thursday, is based on the winning entry in the 2005 Larry Corse Prize for Playwriting an international competition hosted by CSUs theatre department. Walkers play centers on Patrick Trick Bulifant, a scrappy, wayward youth who is desperately in need of cash and has been hired to exhume a handful of graves that are being protected by Lazlo the caretaker. An ensuing battle of wills brings several secrets to light.

Thursday-through-Saturday show times are 7:30 p.m. The Sunday performance begins at 2 p.m. General admission is $15 per adult and $13 for seniors, children, active military and CSU alumni. FEB. 5 - GUEST SPEAKER: DEAD SEA SCROLLS EXPERT SHALOM PAUL
The CSU Honors Program will host a presentation on the Dead Sea Scrolls by guest speaker Shalom Paul at 7 p.m. Monday in the Fine Arts Hall auditorium. Paul chairs the Bible Department at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel and is chairman of the Dead Sea Scrolls Foundation. His lecture is free and open to the public. FEB. 5 INTERNATIONAL FILM SERIES TO FEATURE MOSTLY MARTHA
CSUs Center for International Education will screen the German film Mostly Martha at 7 p.m. Monday, in the International House at 6 Clearview Circle. FEB. 6-7 - COLUMBUS REGIONAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR
Columbus State University will host the annual Columbus Regional Science and Education Fair on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center. Local high school students will compete in the event. Entries will be displayed for public viewing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday. An awards ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday. FEB. 7 - WIND SYMPHONY CONCERT
The CSU Wind Symphony will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the RiverCenters Legacy Hall. This one-hour concert will feature compositions by Percy Grainger, Frank Ticheli, John Corigliano, David Gillingham and Donald Grantham. FEB. 8 - FACULTY RESEARCH FORUMS TO EXAMINE IRISH ENVIRONMENTAL ART PROJECT AND WOMENS ROLES IN AFRICAN-CARIBBEAN MARRIAGE THROUGH LITERATURE
CSU Libraries 2007 Faculty Research Forum Series continues with a pair of presentations, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8 in the Schwob library. French language professor Cecile Accilien will present Diasporic Bonds: Representations of Women in Marriage in African and Caribbean Francophone Literatures. Separately Mara Scrupe, CSUs Rothschild endowed chair of art, will present Fota Lichens Project an art and environmental survey project exhibited by Scrupe in 2005-06 at Irelands historic Fota Arboretum among other Irish venues.
