AUG. 1 – Staff Council Garage Sale
The Columbus State University Staff Council will host a community garage sale Saturday
in the CSU parking garage. The sale will follow a 6:30-7:30 a.m. set-up period. The
public is welcome to shop or join CSU staff in selling their own items including home-baked
goods. Rental space is $10 per six-foot table. The reservation deadline is noon Friday,

AUG. 3 – Astronomy Night at Callaway Gardens
Columbus State’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center will present an Astronomy Night program
starting 9 p.m. Monday at Callaway Gardens near Pine Mountain as the final program
of a summer series. The evening of stargazing and planet viewing at Overlook Pavilion

AUG. 6 – New Student Orientation at West Point
Columbus State will hold an orientation at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 in the New Horizons
Theatre, 411 West 8th St., West Point for students taking classes this fall at the

AUG. 10 – Orientation for Nontraditional, Transfer Students
Columbus State will hold a daylong orientation for new nontraditional students and
transfer students on Monday, Aug. 10. CSU defines a nontraditional student as someone
who has not attended high school or college in the past five years. Check-in is 8-9
a.m. in the University Hall lobby. The cost is $42 per student, $17 per guest or family
