FEB. 8 – Concert by Guest Flutist Jennifer Rhyne
CSU’s Schwob School of Music will present a concert by guest flutist Jennifer Rhyne,
from the faculty at Fort Hays State University , at 7:30 p.m. Friday in RiverCenter’s

FEB. 8-10 – NCAA Baseball: CSU Hosts Flagler
The CSU baseball squad will host Flagler College for a four-game series, Feb. 8-10
at Ragsdale Field. Game times are 5 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday and 1
p.m. Sunday. Admission per day is $5 for adults, $3 for students and free with CSU

FEB. 9 – CSU-Lander NCAA Basketball Doubleheader
CSU will host Lander University for a pair of NCAA basketball games on Saturday
in the Lumpkin Center. The women’s contest tips off at 2 p.m., followed by the men
at 4 p.m. Admission prices are $5 for adults; $3 for students/kids ; and free for
ages 5 and under and CSU students, faculty and staff with ID. For more information,

FEB. 10 – Second Sunday Series: ‘Garden Drought-Surviving Tips’
CSU’s Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center will feature “Drought-Surviving
Tips for Your Garden” as its Second Sunday series program topic for Feb. 10. The program
begins at 2 p.m. and will feature Katie Cook, an interpretive horticulturalist at
Callaway Gardens, who will discuss water conservation techniques for yards and provide
information about drought-tolerant plants. Tips will include how to use a rain barrel
to collect rainfall runoff from a rooftop for indoor or outdoor use. Admission is
$2 per person and free for ages 3 and under. The center is located at 3535 South Lumpkin

CSU’s Schwob School of Music will present a voice studio recital at 4 p.m. Sunday

FEB. 10 - Gospel Extravaganza at RiverCenter
CSU will stage its annual Gospel Extravaganza at 7 p.m. Sunday in RiverCenter’s Legacy
Hall. Performers will include local choirs from Canaan Baptist Church, Spirit Filled
Methodist Church and Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. Admission is free. For more

CSU’s Schwob School of Music will present a concert by pianist Jon Kimura Parker

artist, is CSU’s Dr. E. Stephen Purdom Distinguished Visiting Artist. Admission is

FEB. 14 - Faculty Research Forum
CSU Libraries will host three presentations in a faculty research forum at 12:30
p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 in the Schwob library. The presentations are “Teaching Politeness
Strategies Using Communicative Language Tasks” by K. Seon Jeon, assistant professor
of English; “Teaching Mathematical Concepts Through Problem Solving” by Deirdre Greer,
assistant professor of teacher education and “Teaching Race and Ethnic Relations in
Global Times: Pedagogical Concerns” by Florence Wakoko-Studstill, associate professor

Randy Gardner, a featured artist for the CSU-hosted Southeast Horn Workshop, will

of the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory, Gardner has performed and presented
