JAN 1 - CSU Closes for Holiday, Furlough
Columbus State will close Friday for New Year’s Day and Monday as a designated furlough
day for faculty and staff.
JAN 2 - Space Science Center to Debut Full-Dome, In-House Production
Columbus State University’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center is debuting its first full-dome,
in-house planetarium production as part of its holiday schedule through Jan. 2. The
center’s Omnisphere Theatre will show the popular children’s feature In My Backyard, re-produced for a full-dome viewing experience, at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday.

JAN. 2 – NCAA Women’s Basketball
The CSU women’s basketball squad will host Fort Valley State for a contest at 3 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 2 in the Lumpkin Center. Admission prices are $5 for adults; $3 for
students/kids ; and free for ages 5 and under and CSU students, faculty and staff

JAN. 7 - New Student Registration for Spring Classes
Starting Thursday, Jan. 7, new students at Columbus State can register for spring

JAN. 9 - NCAA Basketball Doubleheader: North Georgia
The CSU women’s and men’s basketball squads host North Georgia for games at 1:30 p.m.
and 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9 in the Lumpkin Center. Admission prices are $5 for

JAN. 10 - Faculty Concert
Columbus State Schwob School of Music faculty members Susan Tomkiewicz and Ron Wirt
will present a concert of solo and chamber music featuring a fusion of classical and
popular styles at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10 in RiverCenter’s Legacy Hall. The pair will
be joined by CSU pianist Susan Hoskins and guest flutist Christine Beard from the

JAN. 11 - Spring Semester Begins
Monday, Jan. 11 is the first day of classes for spring 2010 at Columbus State. The
semester will close with May 4 as the final day of classes ahead of a week of final
exams and a May 15 spring graduation ceremony.
