JAN. 12 – Visitation Day For Prospective Students
The CSU Admissions Office will hold a Visitation Day for high school students and
their parents on Saturday. The event will open in the Lumpkin Center at 9 a.m. and
provide an opportunity for participants to tour campus, meet current CSU students
and speak with professors.

JAN. 15 - MLK Day Observance
CSU will observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a ceremony at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday
in the Davidson Student Center Columbus Room. The program, themed “Symphony of Brotherhood,”
will feature keynote speaker, Benjamin S. Richardson, solicitor general for Columbus
and Muscogee County. The program is free and open to the public and sponsored by the

JAN. 15 – Opening Reception for ‘Taiwan: From Within the Mist’
CSU’s Department of Art will hold a reception for the exhibition “Taiwan: From Within
the Mist” from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in the Corn Center for the Visual Arts’ Illges Gallery
in downtown Columbus. The program is free. The exhibition, through Feb. 9, features
painting, photography, digital imagery, sculpture, printmaking, and video and multimedia
installations by 21 Taiwanese artists. Gallery hours in the Corn Center, at 6 West
10th Street , are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. For

JAN. 16 – CSU-North Georgia NCAA Basketball Doubleheader
CSU will host North Georgia for a pair of NCAA basketball games on Wednesday in the
Lumpkin Center. The women’s contest tips off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men at
7:30 p.m. Admission prices are $5 for adults; $3 for students/kids ; and free for
ages 5 and under and CSU students, faculty and staff with ID. For more information,

JAN. 17-20 – CSU Theatre to Stage ‘School House Rock Live Too’
The CSU Department of Theatre will stage “Schoolhouse Rock Live Too,” Thursday through
Sunday, Jan. 17-20 at CSU Theatre on The Park in downtown Columbus. Show times are
7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
The production, with upbeat dance sections, catchy melodies and witty banter, is a
sequel to “Schoolhouse Rock Live” and inspired by the Emmy Award-winning Saturday
morning cartoon. Tickets are $10 per adult; $5 apiece for seniors, children, active
military and CSU alumni; and free for students, faculty and staff with CSU ID. Call

JAN. 19 — Concert to Conclude CSU Honor Bands of Georgia Clinic
CSU’s Schwob School of Music will present an “Honor Bands of Georgia” concert at
5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 in RiverCenter’s Legacy Hall. The performance will feature
ensembles that have earned Georgia Honor Band status, representing Newnan, Jeff Davis
and East Coweta high schools. The concert is free and will conclude a CSU Honor Bands
of Georgia Clinic, designed “to honor the finest high school bands in Georgia and
to promote the finest in music education.” The clinic will include a CSU faculty-led
master class, plus three-hour full band clinics led separately by Professor Robert
