Through June 25 - CSU Theatre: ‘Blues Clues Live’
Columbus State University’s Department of Theatre is staging Blues Clues Live: Blue’s Birthday Party through June 25 at CSU Theatre on the Park on the RiverPark campus in downtown Columbus. The inaugural production of the Columbus Repertory Theatre gets young audiences involved in a search for clues about what the popular Nickelodeon character wants for her birthday. Remaining show times and dates are:

• 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18
• 2 p.m. Sundays, June 19
• 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25

Through June 26 - CSU Theatre: ‘Nunsense’
Columbus State University’s Department of Theatre is staging the musical comedy Nunsense in through June 26 at CSU Theatre on the Park on the RiverPark campus in downtown Columbus. The second of a pair of inaugural productions of the Columbus Repertory Theatre focuses on a talent show, featuring hilarious songs and dance routines, put on by the Little Sisters of Hoboken to raise money to bury 52 of their fellow sisters who were accidently poisoned by the convent cook. June 18 - Astronomy Night at Roosevelt State Park

June 20-24 - CRMC Math Camps at Columbus High School
The Columbus Regional Mathematics Collaborative at Columbus State University will stage a trio of gender and age-group-specific summer camps that bridge math with mystery-solving, games, art, technology, sports statistics, architecture and more. Each camp takes place Monday-Friday, June 20-24 at Columbus High School, 1700 Cherokee Ave.:
• PSI , 9 a.m.-noon or 1-4 p.m. is designed for students 8-11-years old. Campers will act as scientists, explorers and detectives as they investigate mathematical ideas and engage in various hands-on explorations involving mystery solving, puzzles and games.
• PRIME Camp, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., is for girls entering grades 6-8, who will explore mathematical connections to art, science, games, puzzles, and technology. The camp is designed to illustrate connections between math and many areas of the participants’ lives.
• POWER Camp, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., is for boys entering grades 6-8, who will explore the mathematical foundation to sports statistics, architecture, art and design, rockets, games, puzzles and technology.

June 20-24 - Camp Oxbow: 'Naturally Artistic'
The final of three Camp Oxbow programs at CSU's Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center, "Naturally Artistic," runs 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the center, 3535 South Lumpkin Road. The camp, for groups of 3rd-5th-graders and 6th-8th-graders, involves photographing wildlife, creating pottery with Georgia clays and more. The cost is $215 per child. CSU faculty and staff receive a $50 discount per camp for their children. June 20-23, 27-30 - Summer Spectacular Youth Camp at North Columbus Elementary
CSU teacher education students and faculty are directing the final two weeks of the interactive summer series, Summer Spectacular, for ages 4-11 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, June 20-23 and June 27-30 at North Columbus Elementary School. Themed “On the Move: Road, Water, Rail, Air and Space Transportation,” the camp costs $30 per week for children not enrolled for the entire four weeks. June 20, 27 - Monday Astronomy Night Series at Callaway Gardens
Columbus State’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center holds its annual, summerlong Monday Astronomy Night series at Callaway Gardens near Pine Mountain starting Monday, June 6. June 21 - English Horn Recital
Columbus State’s Schwob School of Music presents an English horn recital by Carolyn Hove at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in RiverCenter’s Legacy Hall. Hove, the principal English hornist for the Los Angeles Philharmonic is in residence at CSU for a four-day intensive workshop on English horn repertoire, technique and reed making. June 23-24 - New Student Orientation for Fall Classes
Columbus State will hold an overnight, fall semester orientation Thursday and Friday, June 23-24 geared to new students who will attend classes on CSU's RiverPark campus and those who will reside in campus housing. Check-in time and site information will be announced. The cost is $106 per student and $35 per accompanying family member. Guests must use alternative overnight accommodations. June 25 - Coca-Cola Space Science Center Anniversary Celebration
Columbus State's Coca-Cola Space Science Center hosts a 15th anniversary celebration from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, June 25 at the center, 701 Front Ave., Columbus. The event, for guests of any age, will feature a 12-30-1:30 p.m. presentation by Jay F. Honeycutt, former director of NASA's Kennedy Space Center. The program also includes interactive air rocket activities, planetarium shows, a Challenger Learning Center open house, T-shirt giveaways and a closing, Astronomy Night session of stargazing and planet viewing. June 25 - English Horn Masterclass Participants to Perform
CSU’s Schwob School of Music presents a performance by participants of Carolyn Hove’s four-day English horn masterclass 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25 in RiverCenter’s Legacy Hall. June 27 – ‘Mini Summer Music Camps’ Open
Registration is open for Mini Summer Music Camps, a June 27-July 20 series of music appreciation classes in room 2604 of the Saunders Center for Music Studies at RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. Presented by Columbus State’s Schwob School of Music Preparatory Division, the following courses are taught by Schwob school professors and target older teens and adults, who are musicians, music teachers-students and music lovers:
• Music Theory Revisited, 9-11 a.m. Monday-Thursday, June 27-30, $79: Topics include Roman numeral analysis and various musical forms in the analysis of works from the modern era.
• The Great Romantics, 9-11 a.m. Tuesday-Friday, July 5-8, $79: Covers composers of the Romantic era, including Wagner, Brahms, Rachmaninoff and Liszt, and plus the 19th century’s history and social highlights.
• Those Tunes in ‘Toons, 1-4 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, July 10-12, $89: Explores classical music woven into cartoons of the 20th and 21st centuries.
• Dueling Divas and the Legends of Opera, 1-3 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, July 18-20, $59: Explores opera’s out-sized egos, artistic rivalries, famous stage disasters and unplanned comic moments through video and audio excerpts and vigorous discussions and demonstrations.

June 28-July 3 - Guitar Foundation of America Convention and Competition
CSU’s Schwob School of Music hosts the 2011 Guitar Foundation of America Convention and Competition June 28-July 3 at RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. Billed as the international classical guitar community’s premier event, activities will include concerts by celebrated artists from around the world, interactive workshops on a wide range of topics, scholarly lectures, a vendor fair, an international concert artist competition, and youth competitions

In addition to a $295 full registration package, a $185 weekend package and $65 day passes are available to the public. Separately, $15, $25 and $30 tickets are available for performances in the Heard Theatre by convention headliners Paul Galbraith at 8 p.m. Friday, July 1 and David Russell at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 2.
