JUNE 25 – Lunch and Learn with Author Billie Jane McIntosh
The CSU Archives and the Muscogee Genealogical Society will co-host a Lunch and Learn program at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the CSU International House at University Avenue and Clearview Circle. Billie Jane McIntosh will talk about her book, From Georgia Tragedy to Oklahoma Frontier: A Biography of Scots Creek Indian Chief Chilly McIntosh. The author is the granddaughter of Chilly McIntosh and great granddaughter of Chief William McIntosh, who lived at Fort Mitchell. She will speak from noon-1 p.m. The program is free and includes light lunch refreshments. For more information, call 706-322-3175.

JUNE 26 - Fall Orientation for Non-Traditional and Transfer Students
Columbus State will hold a new student orientation Friday for non-traditional and transfer students enrolled for the fall 2009 semester. Check-in for the daylong program is 8-9 a.m. in the Davidson Student Center. Cost per student is $42, $17 per adult and $11 per child family member. The fees cover materials and meals. Participants have an opportunity to meet other new students, explore campus resources and organizations, learn academic policies and procedures, and distinguish between academic myths and facts. JUNE 29 - Astronomy Night at Callaway Gardens
Columbus State’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center will present an Astronomy Night program starting 9 p.m. Monday at Callaway Gardens near Pine Mountain as part of a summerlong series. JULY 3 - University to Close for Holiday
Columbus State University will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day.

Weekend Nature Walks at Oxbow Meadows
Columbus State’s Environmental Learning Center at Oxbow Meadows is hosting Nature Walks, at 9 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday at the center, 3535 South Lumpkin Road, Columbus. Kids’ Summer Camps
Throughout the summer, CSU’s Continuing Education division coordinates summer camps on a weekly basis, including its award-winning Activ8 programs for ages 8-14 and 4-7, plus sports camps directed by CSU coaches and athletes and space science camps at CSU’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center.
