NOV. 1 - Student Flute Recital

NOV. 1 – NCAA Women’s Soccer
The CSU women’s soccer squad will host Georgia College and State University for a contest at 4 p.m. Saturday at the CSU Soccer Complex. General admission is $5 for adults; $3 for students/kids ; and free for ages 5 and younger and CSU students, faculty and staff with ID. NOV. 1 - Astronomy Night
CSU’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center will stage an Astronomy Night program of stargazing and planet viewing on Saturday at the center, 701 Front St., Columbus. NOV. 3 – Concert: Brahms’ German Requiem
The CSU Choral Union, Philharmonic and faculty soloists Michelle DeBruyn and Earl Coleman will present Johannes Brahms’ “German Requiem” at 7:30 p.m. Monday in RiverCenter’s Bill Heard Theatre, The performance will be conducted by Constantina Tsolainou. NOV. 4 – Guest Pianist to Perform
Prize-winning pianist Jeremy Denk will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in RiverCenter’s Legacy Hall. Denk is a Young Concert Artists International Auditions winner, an Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient and has garnered acclaim for his “bracing, effortlessly virtuosic and utterly joyous” style of playing . He has appeared as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the St. Louis Symphony, the Houston Symphony, the San Francisco Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and others. NOV. 4 – ‘Violating Sanctions’ Lecture Series: Palestinians
American activist and journalist Kelly Hayes-Raitt will share stories from Palestinian refugees from Israel living in Lebanon in a lecture at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in CSU’s Schwob Library. The lecture is the second in the series “Violating Sanctions: An American Woman’s Listening Tour through the Axis of Evil” by Hayes-Raitt, the CSU McCullers Center for Writers and Musicians’ 2008 Marguerite and Lamar Smith Writing Fellow. NOV. 5 – Guest Trombone Recital
CSU’s Schwob School of Music will present a guest recital of traditional repertoire for the trombone and piano by trombonist Alciomar Oliveira, with pianist Alla Dadaian at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in RiverCenter’s Legacy Hall. NOV. 6 - Kia Official to Open Lecture Series
An executive for Kia’s new plant in West Point is the first speaker for the Executive Speaker Series, at 11 a.m. Thursday in CSU’s University Hall auditorium. Randy Jackson, director of Human Resources and Administration for Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc., will present 'Get to Know Kia Motors, 'The Fastest Growing Automobile Company in the World.' He will discuss Kia's newest manufacturing plant, which is under construction in West Point, as well as its economic impact.

CSU’s Schwob School of Music will present a guest clarinet recital by Howard Klug, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6 in RiverCenter’s Legacy Hall.
