NOV. 16 - NCAA Basketball: CSU Men’s Home Opener
CSU will host Shaw University at 1 p.m. Friday in the Lumpkin Center, marking the
season’s first home game for the men’s basketball squad. Admission prices are $5 for
adults; $3 for students/kids ; and free for ages 5 and under and CSU students, faculty

NOV. 16 – Visiting Expert to Speak on ‘Global Warming and Infectious Diseases’
Dr. John Sinnott, a leading expert on infectious diseases, will speak on “Global
Warming and Emerging Trends in Infectious Diseases” at 1 p.m. Friday in the International
House at 6 Clearview Circle. The program is free and presented by CSU’s Center for
International Education. Sinnott, a 1974 CSU biology graduate, is currently a professor
of medicine and associate dean of international affairs at the University of South
Florida College of Medicine. He also is editor-in-chief of the peer-reviewed journal
Infections in Medicine and recently was appointed senior advisor to the Secretary
of Health as part of Florida’s Bioterrorism Initiative. For more information, call

NOV. 16-17 – NCAA Women’s Basketball: CSU Tip-Off Classic
CSU’s women’s basketball squad will compete with three other teams in the CSU Tip-Off
Classic Friday and Saturday in the Lumpkin Center. The match-ups are Georgia College
and State vs. Shorter , CSU vs. Lees-McRae , Georgia College and State vs. Lees-McRae
and CSU vs. Shorter . Daily admission prices are $5 for adults; $3 for students/kids
; and free for ages 5 and under and CSU students, faculty and staff with ID. For more

NOV. 16 and 18 – NCAA Women’s Soccer Division II Regional Finals
Columbus State University will face top-seeded Tusculum at 7 p.m. Friday at the
CSU soccer complex in the second of two NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer regional championship
games. Earlier, at 4:30 p.m., Tampa will play Montevallo . The winners will face
each other at 1 p.m. Sunday in a NCAA Quarterfinal match to decide which team goes
to the Final Four, set for Nov. 29-Dec. 1 at Orange Beach, Ala.

NOV. 16-17 - Concert to Open Annual Conductors Workshop
The CSU Wind Ensemble’s 7 p.m. performance on Friday in Legacy Hall will officially
open the 11th annual Conductors Workshop at RiverCenter. Joining Professor Robert
Rumbelow as a workshop clinician are guest conductors James F. Keene and Jack Delaney
. The workshop will run through Saturday night and feature conducting sessions, lectures

Friday’s concert will feature the trio of conductors leading the wind ensemble through works by Thomas, Holst, Milhaud and “Music for Prague 1968” by Karel Husa. NOV. 16-18 – Theatre Production ‘The Visit’ Continues
CSU Theatre’s adaptation of the tragic comedy “The Visit” continues at 7:30 p.m.
Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at CSU Theatre on the Park in downtown Columbus.
Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $13 for seniors, children, active military and

NOV. 17 – Astronomy Night
CSU’s Coca-Cola Space Science Center will stage an Astronomy Night program on Saturday
at the center, 701 Front Ave. in Columbus. The program will open with a 7 p.m. planetarium
presentation followed by planet viewing and stargazing at 8 p.m. Admission is free

NOV. 18 - Student Guitar Recitals
CSU’s Schwob School of Music will present student guitar recitals on Sunday in RiverCenter’s
Legacy Hall. Performers will be James Terrell at 6 p.m. and Andrew Clark and Blake
