NOV. 20 - International Food, Entertainment, Fashion Programs
Columbus State will close its International Education Week celebration with a pair of programs Friday. An “International Fun and Food Fest” is slated for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the International House at the corner of University Avenue and Clearview Circle. At 6 p.m., an “International Fashion and Dance Review” will be staged in the Cougar Lounge on the Davidson Student Center’s second floor. These programs are free. NOV. 20-22 - CSU Theatre Staging Cloud Nine
Columbus State Theatre is staging British playwright Caryl Churchill’s comedy Cloud Nine through the weekend at CSU Theatre on the Park Mainstage in downtown Columbus. Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Directed by professor Becky Becker, the play’s first act satirizes the late-19th century British Empire and the repressive nature of the Victorian family. The second act shows what could happen when the restrictions of both the genre of comedy and Victorian ideology are loosened in a more permissive society. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $13 for seniors, children, active military and CSU alumni and free for CSU faculty-staff and students . NOV. 20 - CSU Wind Orchestra and Choral Union
The CSU Wind Orchestra and Choral Union will perform 7 p.m. Friday in RiverCenter’s Legacy Hall as part of the Schwob School of Music’s 13th Annual Conductors Workshop. Wind Ensemble guest conductors Allan McMurray and Mark Scatterday will join Robert Rumbelow for a program featuring works by Grainger, Schuman, Laurisden, and the world premiere of a major composition by Christopher Theofanidis. Vocal soloists for the Theofanidis piece are soprano Michelle DeBruyn, tenor Andrew Skoog and baritone David Grogan. The concert is free. NOV. 21 - Visitation Day for Prospective Students
Columbus State will hold a Visitation Day for prospective students and their parents starting 9 a.m. Saturday at the Lumpkin Center. Participants will tour the university, view student apartments, get insight from current CSU students, speak with professors, attend a social event with CSU student organizations and dine in the CSU Cougar Café. NOV. 22 — Guest Clarinetist Robert Spring
Columbus State’s Schwob School of Music will present a performance by Robert Spring, described as “one of this country's most sensitive and talented clarinetists” , 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22 in RiverCenter’s Legacy Hall. Spring, from the Arizona State University music faculty, will be joined by CSU pianist Yien Wang. Admission is free. NOV. 25-27 - CSU to Close for Furlough, Holiday
Columbus State will close Wednesday — the result of a furlough day — and remain closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.

NOV. 27-28 - NCAA Women’s Basketball: Jack Hughston Classic
Columbus State’s women’s basketball squad will host and compete in the Jack Hughston Classic Friday and Saturday, Nov. 27-28 at the Lumpkin Center. The match-ups include CSU and Tusculum , Georgia College and State and Tusculum and CSU and Carson Newman . Daily Lumpkin Center admission prices are $5 for adults; $3 for students/kids ; and free for ages 5 and under and CSU students, faculty and staff with ID.
