MAY 11-15 CSU HOSTS NCAA SOFTBALL REGIONAL
Columbus State University is hosting the NCAA Division II Softball South Atlantic Regional, Thursday through Sunday at Lady Cougar Field.

CSU, with a 38-13 record, is the regions top seeded team and faces Queens University of Charlotte, 33-22, at 7 p.m. to conclude Thursdays opening slate of match-ups. The earlier games will feature Wingate and Carson Newman at 11 a.m., Georgia College and State and Armstrong Atlantic State at 1:30 p.m., and Lenoir-Rhyne and USC Upstate at 4:30 p.m..

The double-elimination tournament resumes with four games on both Friday and Saturday at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sundays games are at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sundays second game will determine the championship unless an extra game is necessary. In that case, the championship game will be played at noon Monday. The winner will advance to the finals May 18-22 in Salem, Va.

MAY 13 CSU TO STAGE GRADUATION IN SEPARATE CEREMONIES
Columbus State University will hold graduation ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday in the Lumpkin Center. CSU will designate about 300 degree recipients to each ceremony dividing the ceremonies by individual colleges. The College of Science and D. Abbott Turner College of Business will participate in the 10 a.m. ceremony. The College of Arts and Letters, College of Education and University College will send its graduates to the 4 p.m. ceremony.

The morning speaker will be James Woodward, chancellor emeritus of the University of North Carolina Charlotte W.C. Bradley Company Chairman of the Board and CEO Stephen Butler will deliver the afternoon commencement address. Seating for guests will begin at 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Shuttles will be available to transport guests from parking lots throughout campus. MAY 14 OXBOW MEADOWS TO SHOWCASE HUMMINGBIRDS
Columbus State Universitys Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center will present Hooray for Hummingbirds as its next Second Sunday series program, at 2 p.m. Sunday. The program will repeat at 3 p.m. Admission is $2 per person and free for children ages four and under. Oxbow Meadows is located at 3535 S. Lumpkin Rd., Columbus. MAY 15 LATE REGISTRATION DEADLINE, MAY CLASSES BEGIN
Summer classes at Columbus State University will open with a 14-day May session beginning Monday, May 15. The day also marks the registration deadline for the May classes.
