OCT. 27 - RHYTHMS OF THE WORLD TO SHOWCASE TRADITIONAL DANCE AROUND THE GLOBE
Columbus State Universitys Center for International Education will present So You Think You Can Dance Rhythms of the World, from 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Davidson Student Center game room. The event will feature CSUs international students demonstrating traditional dances that originate from regions such as Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. The program also concludes CSUs celebration of International Education Week, a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Education to recognize the global exchange environment between the United States and other countries. OCT. 27 FREE RECITAL TO FEATURE VOCALIST MICHELLE DEBRUYN
CSU voice professor Michelle DeBruyn will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 in the RiverCenters Legacy Hall. DeBruyn, a soprano, will be accompanied by pianist and CSU faculty colleague Betty Anne Diaz. General admission is free. For more information, call 706-649-7287.

OCT. 28-29 - NCAA WOMENS SOCCER: CSU TO HOST CONFERENCE FINALS
The CSU Soccer Complex is the site for the Peach Belt Conference womens soccer tournament finals on Saturday and Sunday. The CSU squad will face USC Upstate at noon Saturday, followed by Armstrong Atlantic State vs. Clayton State at 2:30 p.m. The winners will meet in the championship match at 2 p.m. Sunday. OCT. 29 - FREE CONCERT BY GUEST PERCUSSIONIST GREG BEYER
Guest percussionist Greg Beyer will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday in the RiverCenters Studio Theatre. Beyer, a faculty member at Northern Illinois University, has given solo performances and master classes throughout the United States and Europe. His concert at CSU is free. OCT. 31 - RITE OF PASSAGE CONVOCATION TO FEATURE NEWLY PROMOTED PROFESSORS
CSU Libraries will present a pair of Rite of Passage lectures, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Simon Schwob Memorial Library . Presentations, individually, by professors Lenoir Gillam and Neal Thomson will showcase expertise relevant to their recent promotions to the rank of full professor. NOV. 2 PUBLIC FORUM TO ADDRESS UPCOMING WHINSEC PROTESTS
Columbus State University and the CSU Student Political Science Awareness Association will host a public forum to address the planned Nov. 17-19 protests against Fort Bennings Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation, formerly known as the School of the Americas.

The forum will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 in the Fine Arts Hall auditorium and is in collaboration with the Chattahoochee Valley Episcopal Ministry Peace and Justice Group and the Muscogee County Clergy Association. The event is designed for organizations and the public to express statements of principles and address issues of mutual concern in a way that promotes education, tolerance and hospitality. NOV. 2 - HISTORY SERIES TO FEATURE COLUMBUS TEXTILE INDUSTRY
Retired CSU history Professor John Lupold will lead a panel discussion on The Textile Industry in Columbus, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Comer Auditorium in the Bibb City area of Columbus . Lupold, author of three books related to Columbus history, also will lead a bus tour of sites important in Columbus textile history on Saturday, Nov. 4, leaving at 10 a.m. from Columbus Public Library and returning about noon. NOV. 2 FREE RECITAL TO FEATURE SAXOPHONIST GRIFFIN CAMPBELL
CSUs Schwob School of Music will present a free recital by saxophonist Griffin Campbell at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 in the RiverCenters Legacy Hall. Campbell, a regional director for the North American Saxophone Alliance, is noted for musical explorations ranging from concerto performance to free jazz and improvised movie scores, and from orchestral performance to pop/rock styles.
