Oct. 23, 25 - Visiting Artist Reception and Lecture Columbus State University's Department of Art presents a reception for Alastair Clark of Scotland's Edinburgh Printmakers, 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, in the Fine Arts Hall Gallery. Clark will give a lecture at 12:30 p..m. Thursday, - also in the Fine Arts Hall Gallery. Both events are free and open to the public, and part of a gallery exhibition by the Edinburgh Printmakers which runs through . Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Oct. 25 - CSU Targets Prospective Engineering Students Columbus State University's Engineering Advisory Committee will host 'Engineering Night,' an informational program for regional high school students interested in studying engineering in higher education. The event will run 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, at CSU's Coca-Cola Space Science Center located at 700 Front Ave., Columbus. Information will highlight the University System of Georgia Board of Regents Engineering Transfer Program. Representatives will be on hand from CSU's College of Science, Columbus Technical College, Georgia Tech, and Southern Polytechnic State University. For more information, call 568-2075.

Oct. 25 - CSU Concert: University Chorale Columbus State University's Schwob School of Music presents the University Chorale, in concert, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, in Legacy Hall at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts located at 900 Broadway, Columbus. Oct. 26, 28 - CSU Jazz Band will present their 1,000th and 1,001st shows during weekend performances at RiverCenter. The Columbus State University Jazz Band, with conductor Paul Vander Gheynst, will perform traditional and big band selections in concert, 7 p.m. Friday, and at 3 p.m. Sunday . Both concerts will be held in Legacy Hall of the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts at 900 Broadway, Columbus. Oct. 27 - CSU stages a 'Carnival of Music' at RiverCenter Columbus State University's Schwob School of Music, Patrons of Music and Rankin Arts Center present a 'Carnival of Music' at 3 p.m. Saturday, at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts at 900 Broadway, Columbus. The event will feature musical performances and interactive demonstrations of musical instruments, dance and movement. The program is designed for an audience of all ages.
