CSU Staff Co-Author Book Chapter

Dr. Tim Howard, Vice Provost and Dr. Kimberly McElveen, Assistant Vice President for Institutional Assessment recently co-authored chapter eight of the new book, Generally Speaking: The Impact of General Education on Student Learning in the 21st Century. In their chapter, they discuss how CSU used Design Thinking to develop a Faculty-Driven Assessment Plan.

In their chapter, they describe how CSU used data and the assessment process to improve student learning in the Core Curriculum. It's a comprehensive review of how Columbus State University adopted a faculty-led assessment plan that is centered around student work and aligned with the LEAP VALUE Rubrics. The book is an overview of the changes in general education curricula during the 21st Century, and how those changes have positively affected student learning.
