Columbus State University student Huirui Washington was selected as the first place scholarship winner with the Morphisec Award. Washington was awarded $5000 in recognition of her exceptional commitment to cybersecurity while supporting her MSc in Cybersecurity at CSU.

"I am so very honored to be recognized by the fine individuals at Morphisec! They have an impressive track record, having grown 1000% in 2017 and having been recognized for having 100% effectiveness against every attack performed in a lab,” said Washington. “They are a pioneer in Moving Target Defense! It means a lot to a person when you get a pat on the back from such a titan in the industry! This scholarship will help me out tremendously! I am so excited because I can apply this toward my certifications!"

The Morphisec Women in Cybersecurity scholarship is in its second year, and for the second year in a row, Morphisec has awarded three scholarships to top female students pursuing cybersecurity degrees around the world. The latest numbers still place women’s employment in the cybersecurity industry at 24%.
