CSU Student Awarded Scholarship by United Negro College Fund

Columbus State University student Kanaya Mahone has been awarded an annual scholarship for four years from the United Negro College Fund .

"It was an honor spending a weekend with over 400 African American college students,” said Mahone. “Hearing the stories and receiving knowledge from the keynote speakers served as encouragement in regards to my matriculation through my undergrad career. I would like to extend my gratitude to the UNCF/Koch Scholarship Program for this opportunity.”

Mahone is a sophomore at CSU majoring in psychology. She is involved in Cougar Kickoff, has participated in Alternative Spring Break, and works in the President’s Office.

UNCF is the nation’s largest private scholarship provider to minority group members. Each year, it awards more than $100 million in scholarships to more than 10,000 students at more than 1,100 schools across the country. UNCF has helped more than 450,000 students earn their college degrees since its founding.
