CSU to Honor Spring 2021 Graduates through Drive-in-style Ceremonies

May 11, 2021

CSU Graduation

With the continued health and safety of its graduates in mind, Columbus State University will award more than 950 degrees and certificates in a “drive-in” commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 15. Three ceremonies at the Columbus Civic Center will allow spring 2021 graduates and their guests to celebrate in person. In addition, a web livestream will help Cougars everywhere participate in the special day.

Ceremonies will take place in the Civic Center parking lot, where graduates and guests will remain in their vehicles but in view of stage activities. Graduates of the university’s College of the Arts and Turner College of Business will gather for a 9 a.m. ceremony. A 12 p.m. ceremony will honor College of Letters and Sciences graduates, followed by College of Education and Health Professions graduates at 2:30 p.m.

The university will enforce all current public health guidelines—including the use of face coverings and physical distancing—from the time of graduates’ and guests’ arrival through the  end of the ceremony. Any materials—printed programs, name cards, graduation tubes and the like—will be exchanged by CSU staff wearing gloves and face coverings.
