This fellowship program, which is in its first year, is for educational projects at African higher education institutions.

Funded by a two-year grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York, the program supports 100 short-term faculty fellowships for African-born academics to collaborate with faculty in an African university to conduct research, develop curriculum, and mentor students. Wakoko-Studstill, a native of Uganda, will spend her time at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda beginning June 1,2014.

“I am extremely excited about this opportunity,” Wakoko-Studstill said. “I see it as another way of giving back to the community; it involves sharing knowledge and learning from others in global contexts.”
