Mathematics Professor Earns Grant to Study West Nile

Columbus State’s Guihong Fan, assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics and Philosophy, has been awarded a $4,000 Mathematics Mentoring Travel Grant from the Association for Women in Mathematics to spend one month in the summer visiting Professor Susan Lenhart at the University of Tennessee about a proposed project on optimal control of West Nile virus.
