Nursing Professor Selected to Help Write National Licensing Exam

Sherika Derico, assistant professor of nursing at Columbus State University, was approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing and selected by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing to be a volunteer item writer for the NCLEX-RN exam, a licensing examination all nursing candidates must pass to practice at the entry level.

Derico was one of 10 nurses from across the nation to be selected for this assignment. She was nominated on the basis of clinical specialty and nursing expertise.
