Olympics Notebook: CSU Student Competitor Looking Forward to 2016

Hello!

Yesterday was the finish of my match. I did not shoot my usual scores, nor was I pleased with my score . I am, however, extremely pleased with the performance and experience I will be walking away from London with.

This being the Olympics, it is definitely the most important match I have ever shot. I am used to shooting world cups and world championships, which are big matches, but I am not going to lie: I let the pressure of the games get to me. I started off the competition shooting very well, and even when I did start to drop points, it was a string I could still recover from and have made finals or better. But my mental game broke and I started thinking about where I was and what I was actually taking part in, and of course with that came the emotions and loss of focus. Even though I lost my focus, I do feel that I had recovered for my last string.

All in all, I am very pleased with the experience. I gave it my all, and now that I have been through it and know what to expect I am ready to bring my game to another level, so watch out! In 2016, I will be on the awards podium.

I am more humble for the experience and more determined for the future. For me, practice for 2016 starts now.
