Professor of Accounting Directs International Research Collaboration on Information Systems

Columbus State Professor of Accounting Adam Maiga directed a research collaboration with two Swedish accounting professors and co-authored a resulting paper titled “Relationships Between Internal and External Information Systems Integration, Cost and Quality Performance, and Firm Profitability” that was recently published in the International Journal of Production Economics.

The paper describes how the authors collected survey data from a cross-section of U.S. manufacturing firms and used structural equation modeling to assess whether information systems integration produces a direct effect on firm profitability or whether this relationship is established through quality and cost performance.
