Professor’s Paper on Pollen Published in International Genetics Journal
March 2, 2016
Kevin Burgess, professor of biology at Columbus State University, and collaborators published a paper on DNA barcoding in Elsevier’s “Forensic Science International: Genetics.” The article, titled “Review and Future Prospects for DNA Barcoding Methods in Forensic Palynology,” explores the use of pollen as a forensic identifier in cases where determining geographic origin is important. Pollen can be used to help solve missing persons cases or determine investigative leads.###
