Sanders Receives First Place Medal in National Exhibition

CSU Department of Art faculty Joe Sanders was recently awarded the First Place Medal in the "Book as Art: Pulp" national juried exhibition presented by the Decatur Arts Alliance, Georgia Center for the Book, and the Dekalb Library Foundation.

Sanders' work "Pulp Therapy" was selected for the award among numerous works submitted by artists working across the field of handmade books and papermaking. Sanders' monumental 22' x 5' handmade paper piece was installed in the Decatur Library exhibition along with a variety of handmade artists' books and sculptural book objects. The works in the exhibition celebrate the book with inventive, intriguing and spectacular pieces that challenges expectations.
